KILLALOO HOUSE

This proposed dwelling is located on the outskirts of Derry, nestled in a dense woodland near Killaloo.

The building is intended to be sympathetic to its surroundings in both its form and material selection. The rectilinear form although simple in nature is punctuated with strong glazed apertures to create a connection to the surrounding landscape.

The dwelling opens up to the external spaces which are on a south-west axis capturing the midday to evening sun.

The contemporary design allows for an internal flow with very little wasted space, creating a bright and airy open plan living home bringing the outside in. The timber facade will soften over time and the grey timber will allow the home to subtly connect with the landscape..
